The Facebook fans will be other business people who are proactive Facebook marketers. They are people who I network with and members of my two Facebook marketing groups. Which you are welcome to join.

I have Startersphere’s Marketing Network which is a global Facebook marketing network and you can join my clicking this Link.

I also have Startersphere’s UK Marketing Network which is a UK Facebook marketing network that you can join by clicking here.

Getting back to the competition. There is a lot of scope with 100 new fans as Facebook now has a “Promoted post” facility unfortunately  you do need 400 fans to “promote” posts. Still if you’re on 300 this will enable this function. The benefit of the promoted post is that as demonstrated below:

The Power of Direct Selling by Exhibiting in Shopping Centres

Image

Are you looking to promote your business, enhance sales and get your brand to market?

Direct marketing is undeniably the best way to reach your audience but what better form than face to face. Exhibiting in highly populated shopping centres is a highly effective form of generating new business or reminding previous consumers how amazing you are.

The Centre for Exhibition Industry Research CEIR) says that “the top reason for

Exhibitor’s to take part is that it is the most efficient (and cost effective) way to make multiple customer contacts in a short period of time.”

The Newsletter Publishing Company is exhibiting in The Royal Victoria Place Shopping Centre from September the 10th – 17th of September. The average foot fall for a week is 190,000 people.

This offers a fantastic opportunity to have your business or event promoted by professional marketers, leaving you to concentrate on running your business.

The cost for exhibiting is £350 + VAT for a week’s exposure in a prime location within the shopping centre. We also design and produce an A1 poster and A5 leaflets if you require them.

Your A1 poster will be displayed on our exhibition stand, which will be situated in a prominent position in the shopping centre. Your A5 leaflets will be handed out to the visiting public by members of our staff, who are in attendance in our exhibition area 7 days per week.

We have recently exhibited at The Whitgift Shopping Centre in Croydon and prior to that we exhibited at The Elmsleigh Shopping Centre in Staines and The Belfry Shopping Centre in Redhill.

                                              A Client’s Testimonial

‘The promotion was a great success for us . . . we would not have been able to target so

many local people via any other form of marketing or advertising. We would not hesitate

to be involved again in another Professional Services Exhibition if it comes to our area.’

John Swift, Multi-Site Sales Manager, Mercure Hotels

Following the Tunbridge Wells exhibition we will then be exhibiting at the Southside Shopping Centre in Wandsworth in November. Southside attracts 175,000 shoppers a week and is also conveniently located for Clapham, Battersea, Chelsea, Earlsfield, Furzedown, Nine Elms, Putney Vale, Roehampton, Southfields, Streatham Park, Tooting, Tooting Bec, Balham and Putney businesses.

We are very pleased to have a high rate of repeat exhibitors including Mercure Hotels, who were kind enough to give us a recommendation. They will be exhibiting with us at The Royal Victoria Place Shopping Centre in Tunbridge Wells.

1230Why You Need a Social Media Presence On 05.19.12 • In Social Media • by alexwi Why you need a social media presence

In a recent discussion with a web developer and SEO expert who is considering enhancing their social media offering. They highlighted that one of their key concerns, or rather their clients, is that by having a social media presence they leave themselves open to public negativity. They fear having complaints or criticism written directly on their social media sites.

Every business will have complaints some unfounded others genuine errors. Regardless of why complaints occur avoiding a social media presence will not prevent viral complaints. It will just prevent you being privy to it and engaging damage control. Often you can gain a heightened respect and trust in your service from others witnessing your swift reaction and compensation of the upset party. A good example of this is Zappo’s who use their customer complaints as a foundation of their business. There is an article discussing Zappos Twitter skills link here. From Zappos insights team who are renowned for their social media mastery. I don’t want send you away again but we all have to take notice. Link!

What are the benefits?

Do you Want to Increase The Likes’ on your Facebook Page?

Have you been stressing over your Facebook business page?

When you visit a Facebook page and it only has 10, 20 or 30 likes  does it encourage you to work with them.  No it doesn’t! The like button acts as a credibility button to visitors, all though anyone that’s been on the other side as a page creator knows that even if you have a loyal following it doesn’t mean they’re going to press the Like button.

It’s time to be proactive and resolve your Facebook issues, give yourself the credibility you deserve .  It’s not just the credibility aspect either, there is also the issue of EdgeRank algorithm to take into consideration.

– Affinity + edge weight + age = effectiveness on Facebook
– Clever use of how active conversations are (rather than static likes)
– affinity
– Popularity of your content that is clicked on (video, photos, links) –
edge weight
– When your Facebook connections are on/active (time wise) and
post fresh content then – time decay.

Easier said then done I know! You can’t pester your clients or your friends.  So lets form a network of proactive businesses supporting each other, giving each other a kick-start.

If you want to be involved you can either click the Like button on my WordPress page and leave your Facebook link in the comments section for me to like back and when anyone else visits if you like all the pages listed in the comments section too. When visiting their page paste: I found you from Startersphere’s blog. Great page! http://www.facebook.com/…….. (add your facebook page link). You have to like business pages  with your personal Facebook account or it doesn’t register. If you see the above message on your page you must reciprocate the like.

Remember these are just static likes all though important, alone it’s not enough.  So lets start engaging with each other via our Facebook business pages liking each others comments, status photo’s etc this will all aid our shared goal. It does encourage other people to like your comments too.

My Facebook page is http://www.facebook.com/startersphere if you want to leave your link first and reciprocate after I’ve liked yours that’s fine. Think of the benefit of your Facebook page link being on numerous other business pages heightening the odds of page engagement and possible business.

Come on get involved or if you have any questions or worries talk to me. Or email me your links startersphere@gmail.com

How Pinterest Can Turn Your Brand Red-Hot [INFOGRAPHIC]

By Jeremy Cabalona

If your brand isn’t on Pinterest, you could be missing out on a growing stream of potential customers.

While shaping your brand’s image on Pinterest, remember to take into account the specifics of the site’s userbase. A recent study showed that home, arts and crafts,  style/fashion and food are the most popular categories on Pinterest.  The food category is the fastest growing segment of Pinterest.

Even if your brand doesn’t directly specialize in these topics, there may be a way to include them in your brand’s boards to gain maximum exposure.  It’s also important to remember that while Pinterest’s audience is heavily female, the demographics of the site are changing.

Take a look at this infographic from web optimization company Maxymiser, and then let us know in the comments if you’re altering your plans to take advantage of the explosive growth of Pinterest.
